 WOYWW?

If a picture is worth a thousand words, I pray this one brings thousands of thanks to each one of you who sent prayers, a card, and supplies.

I havent posted since Hurricane Helene came through my Town, in Western North Carolina, USA, and changed all of our lives.

I'm finding it important to focus more on what I have not lost, than what I have.

I have not lost my life, family and close friends and pets all safe.

I have not lost my faith, my world wide friends of community, and support.

(I did lose my home and much of my belongings)

I had a plan to get back to each individually, and that went the way of my life BH(before Helene). I moved several times, before finally getting stable housing Nov 1- and these cards were my touch stones in each new space.

There are no words to express how much the support, friendship and generosity of my on line art communities mean to me- to all of us.

Art saves live, and heals, and united in our WOYWW community, we care for and with, each other.

I have shared these cards and some of the supplies with many other artists, and pray they will find the strength of community in them that I do.

Much of the paint and paper when into our child play pop ups while our schools and daycares were closed. I know there were prayers in every stroke of the pen and brush.

Happy Anniversary lucky 13 to all!

Desk, slightly staged, as most of my creativity is going into staying healthy and energized to care for my  darling grandbaby!

Connections is right up my ally and I loved how my ATC's turned out.

Thanks to each and every desker for visits and visiting.

IDK what is going on with commenting, so please know, between diaper changes and walks and feedings, I will visit and honor each one of my BFF, I have never met!

 Yes there was ANYTHING FIBER!

Waiting at the door.

The line formed a little after nine and we opened at 10- there must have been 100 peeps in line by 10!

Once the doors opened it was packed isles and aggressive shopping for 2 solid hours.

The crowd thinned a bit around noon, as everyone grabbed a bit to eat from Sweet Monkey, our food vendor in the lobby.

A splendid time was had by all, vendors and buyers alike.

Loom Love

This week I had the pleasure of assembling a Beka cherry 36" eight harness loom.
The loom had been in storage and was delivered to a neighbors light filled spacious basement for her niece.
It was love at first sight and as it took less than two hours from start to finish, I think the feeling is mutual.
Aside from the wood being dusty and dry, all the parts were there and only the friction break needed some jerry-rigging. The rachet teeth on the front beam are small enough to finely adjust tension
The loom is well proportioned, lovely to look at and has the simple tieup system of Macomber wires and the smooth operating jacks of Schacht looms and enough weight if you want to weave rugs.
The customer service folks at Beka informed me this loom was sold to Muggins Barn in Franklin, NC January 31, 1984. Leave a comment if you know anything about Muggins
There is also an element of studio envy.
I'm longing for a community studio space where I can enjoy my own beautiful and finely crafted fiber tools and share my love of fiberarts.(shout out to Leslie Owens, Nice Threads, for loaning me her beautiful eight harness loom-she is a fine roommate{the loom }).
