WOYWW 603 -Poinsettias and Popups

Joyous Holidays all!
I know poinsettia grow wild and free somewhere, and here we scientifically control their indoor environment , give them drugs to start  growing and stop growing, and goddess knows what is prayed inside the greenhouses (for workers to breathe) and then for $4.00 I get at least a month of color and enjoyment out of them.
Somehow this inspires me!

The little  the green box with the red holly berries is a  cookie box- the ATC with the red bow was made out of leftovers.
You can read more about that
here
The cute little snowmen also have a story to tell.

Last and never least Brave Girl Cards.
Can you tell Santa brought me the new Tonic Deckle Edge cutter?

Dear Deskers, no telling what this new year will bring, and I'm feeling grateful knowing for sure there will be more WOYWW's!
I seem to have issues leaving comments on some blogs- FYI- if you use blogger, make your comment box a pop up, and for some reason that makes it easier to comment.

WOYWW 602 The Kind of S**W I Like

 WOYWW?

Card making continues with peace as a theme.
We had a small ice event this morning, and I am going nowhere!
I understand there are some who like this stuff!
Pop up design by Robert Sabuda

In a tidy and toss frenzy I went through and organized all my ribbon and rick rack.
I'm pretty sure the sheep were a gift I'd forgotten, and  I'm going otokeep them on my desk till they find their flock!
Thanks so much for visiting!

WOYWW 601-ZOOM!!!

 WOYWW?
The Desk
What you see before you are goody bags of desk detritus being bagged up to go in Christmas stockings!
The Deskers
The woman of the hour dressed in Green!
(myself behind the camera)

A splendid time was had by all!
I haven't enjoyed myself this much since I don't know when!
Laughs, show and tell and just a touch of gin!
(it was after five in some time zones)
This is what peace looks like.
( some deskers do say bloody, and y'all!)
Not nearly as fascinating in my current digital blog post with the cutest penguin ever!
Thanks one and all for zooming, visiting and giving this American girl a jolly good welcome!

WOYWW 600 - Looking backwards and forwards

Where to begin?
I first heard about WOYWW from another blogger, and after my first visit I was hooked.
I love ATC's and each one of these trades over the years is precious.
Y'all are some of the best friends I have never met.
Inviting each other in to each others homes each week, for over 10 years now- we are well ahead of the times, as Zoomers are just beginning to see.
My desk is in full Holiday mode, and it was a joy to display all the ATC's and pins, being careful not to get them in the glue, glitter and/or ink on this working girls desk.
I so look forward to meeting many of you on Saturday.
Here's to another 600
Three Cheers to Julia, and god bless us every one.
Thanks for visiting, your kind comments, welcoming me and more.
This is what peace looks like.

WOYWW 598- More than one...Restraint

I used to do a lot of swaps and mingles, and every time I would go through the same cycle of forgetting and them remembering how much I don't enjoy making  multiples.
i've made more cards than ever, and each one is different, and I fell in love with this sentiment so ...
I'm enjoying the restraint of the postcard- can't go overboard with layers and embellishments .
You can see that
and

Here in the states we are looking to a pandemic Thanksgiving- not knowing if I will be able to be with my children or not, holding back (more restraint) on preparation incase not.
Thankful for being together will all of you each Wednesday!

I know I don't always get there on the first try, and I always learn something.
If the paper was in good shape, I could have gessoed or watercolor grounded over it!
Thanks for stopping by and creating with me!

WOYWW 586 Flowers and Chocolate

Dear friends, forgive my absence, life keeps on happening! The internet was way more fun when it was optional!

The good news is Suzanne Cannon's Quietfire Design stamps are now available from
Emerald Creek, and the Design team is still inspiring with almost daily posts on Quietfire Creations, Digital blogs and a host of FB groups.
The bad news is Suzanne has closed her on line shop.
More on that garden in a box card on Quietfire Digital blog today.
BOYC
Stay tuned for a possible garden pop up in the mini stitched album.
The garden is glorious this year. Rain and sun, and lots of attention from at home gardeners.
What I miss most right now is my after school time with kids all over our community.
We created together, and shared lots of what was on our hearts and minds.
I often showed them projects I was working on as a graphic designer and they were my best critics and nurturers.
I did try doing videos, and it wasn't working for me.
It's hard and not as much fun to edit your own work. The pandemic, fires in California, hurricanes to our south, the upcoming elections, we are all touched by fear, uncertainty, attachments and aversions.
i believe our greatest strength, safety and refuge, is in whatever you believes holds us all, together, and, each other.
Please, love one another, look out for one another, help one another when you can, and ask when you need it.
What ever it is that you do, pray, hold in the light, dance, chant, think warm fuzzy thoughts, paint, plant...
Whatever you do, please do it now, and to make it even stronger, find someone- in this life, in this group, and do it together.
I appreciate each and everyone of you.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope to do more of the same!
