WOYWW 498- Christmas Birthdays

One of my SIL's birthday is Dec 26.
Sending her a separate card is a must!
I have a box of cards I call the
Pauline Seitchik Memorial Collection
from cleaning  out  my grandmothers closet when she died.
(more than 30 years ago!)
I enjoy sending them to family members as much as hand made cards.
It's important to keep our elders alive in story and holiday tradition.

In other news- if you still need to make quick cards and gifts- your digital cutter is your best friend.
From the comfort of your desk you can DL most of what you see on my desk from

Visit Quietfire Digital later today for more on the Nutcracker Sugarplum fairy ornament.

I enjoyed doing a lot of visiting last week while I was snowed in and I was having trouble leaving comments on blogger.
Please forgive me if I didn't comment!
Hope to visit y'all again this week and catch up on all your desker shenanigans !

WOYWW 419 - Recovery

My computer died. It was swift. I don't think she suffered.
I suffered!
(it's only money {right})
Note prayer candle.
To find out more about these adorable baskets that can be made in 15 minutes (truth)
 please visit

I've read if you want to talk about hard stuff with kids, do it when you are driving so they don't have to look at you.
I think crafting together works just as well and you don't have to worry about getting in a wreck if the conversation goes south!
Note lovely fabric ATC's in the rear.
Thanks so much Twiglet and Annie.
Strange lighting in the photo-I left it, feeling it was moody!
You may be wondering why I have dead flowers on my desk.
You wouldn't if you could smell them.
Gardenias!
Mine are in bloom and I can't bare to pick them till they are ugly to look at on the bush.
They continue to perfume the room for a week!
So... I'm rambling-happy to be back in cyber space visiting all of you!

Huge shout out to The Home for allowing me the opportunity to serve our children.

Happy Hopping!  Good luck!
Whenever new stamps from Suzanne arrive, I can't wait to see which ones will fit on ATC's,
 my preferred card platform.
All four of the latest release are ATC perfect!

Three of the new stamps are featured below.

All the cards are from my
Off my Desk series,
which means I only use stuff found on my desk at the end of the day.

Sentiment was stamped with VersaFine Onyx, heat embossed clear and using the MISTI the outer frame was overstamped with VersaMark and Ranger superfine silver embossing powder.
The Snow is from the
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas set and I added some DecoArts Snowwriter.
It's hard not to get carried away with this stuff!
Christmas is the day

Relax is a Silhouette cut file sketched with glitter pens.

Stamping on water color paper that was used as a practice pad and brush wipe sheet, I used the MISTI tool so I could re-stamp to get a good impression to heat emboss, VersaFine Onyx and clear embossing powder.
The top one I used too much ink and it bled a bit.
Sometimes less is more!
Bottom card eggplant embossing powder over Onyx.

Love this cut file!

The back,
stamped with VersaFine Sepia and Ranger superfine copper embossing powder.
Flecks were intentional, and after much deliberation decided not to hide the brad, after covering it with embossing powder.
If I could only have one stamp pad, it might be VersaFine Sepia!
Masking the stamp before inking.

Another sketched cut file.
The back.

Theses cards are all from my
Off my Desk series,
which means I only use stuff found on my desk at the end of the day.

Did you make some cards today? Share them!
and
Be sure to leave a comment below and on each Design Team Blog for prizes!
