Queen of Hearts (no tarts) Blog hop-Yes Virginia, there is a Chia Pet!-T is for Tuesday

You know you've always wanted one, and this is the first one I have ever seen up close and personal!
Shout out to Brooke! for growing and nurturing and Chris for being such an amazing Mom to actually buy it!
I've been away, and I can tell you, there is no place like home.
California was crazy.
It made me feel tired and lazy!
I guess I was jet lagged, and it felt more like sleeping sickness.
The best part of the trip was visiting family in  San Francisco and eating same.

DD and I went to Cha-Ya on Valencia St
a Vegan Japanese place inspired by Zen cooking.

Salads
Fresh, attractive and delicious!
(we drank water)

Senroppon Salad

Shredded salad. shredded daikon, turnip, cucumber, and carrots, garnished with atsuage tofu, radishes, soybeans,
kaiware sprouts, soy-vinagarette dressing.

Shira Ae

Hangetsu

 Very interesting! and delicious.
We were so full we forgot to order dessert!
The total tab only came to $25- very low by West Coast standards.

Off to Anaheim and the Craft Hobby Association Trade show.
Anaheim is a food desert!
There was plenty of unhealthy food to snack on at events and LOTS to drink.
Local Local

Asheville local- the world is our community
and how about some paper art Sushi?
If I ever get caught up, I tell you more about the trip, and for now it's time to travel via blog
with T is for Tuesday.
OH- almost forgot.

I've seen ads for chia pets, but I've never had one. That one makes me think it'd be fun to give it a try. Happy T(ea) Tuesday!

Oh yes, gotta love that little cat growing stuff all over... how cute would that be in a kitchen window? The salads look great and the paper sushi would be the only kind I would want to try... Happy T Tuesday to you! Annette

When I saw you were in CA, I thought how lucky for you, because you were in the land of Vegans and Vegetarians. There are more out there than steak places in KS. And that's saying a LOT.

Good price on the meal. You are right that it was low by west coast standards. I've never wanted to own a chia, but I would like that one, especially if those were edible sprouts.

Wonderful local (to Anaheim) and global (to Asheville) comparisons. Thanks for sharing these with us for T this Tuesday. Loved the sushi, too.

I've never seen a chia pet with its greenery before-it actually looks cute. Your meal sounds so amazing-totally my kind of food yum! The CHA-despite probably being a mad house -must have been SO much fun! Lucky you to get there. Those paper sushis are fabulous and so clever too! Thanks for sharing and happy T day. Quietfire has some of the most beautiful sentiments and fonts. Will check out the hop.

Very clever and colorful paper sushi! I had a chia pot when I was a kid that I remember growing but we did not eat the sprouts.

Fun chia pet...what's old is new and who knew that chia seeds would find it's way into so many foods now.
Lucky you getting to enjoy the west coast.
One of our favorite restaurants in SF is The Greens.
They offer beautiful vegetarian fare with fab sunset views of the Golden Gate Bridge too.
Your meal looks and sounds really special!
From all I can tell CHA is an experience like no other!
Welcome home and Happy T Day.

The paper sushi cracks me up! Cute!
Most vacations people seem to need to recover from when they get home. ;)
Lucky to go to the CHA!! Always love stamps. I'll have to come back and snoop at the blog hop. Happy T-Day! :)

I love San Fran! Usually when I go I try to stay at least a month so the jet lag wears off eventually. Your food looks delish! I hope you had some great memories. :-)
