WOYWW-742-Inanimate Love/Doing it Manually

Previously, I would say my wood cookstove was the only inanimate object I was in love with.
My heart has grown to include my manual typewriter.
I was using my printer to simulate manual type, and I can tell you
the original is still the greatest!

If you are new to my desk, each day I take what is left on my desk at the end of the day and make an ATC Brave Girl Card.
ATC's are only gifted or traded, and these I give away to someone I dont know- to help me to be brave- sharing a piece of myself with a stranger, and trust that the card will help them to be brave when they need it- and it can always be passed on as well.
hand lettered calligraphy stamp by Suzanne Cannon (might be vintage now{alas})

Our local Library has a
Free Little Art Gallery
and I've been know to leave some in there as well.

Email me if you need a Brave Girl Card!

Thanks for visiting and comments and questions always welcomed!

What a brilliant way to clean your desk each day. And of course, an ATC is the perfect gift. I would LOVE to find one of those old typewriters. I can see how handy they can be. Happy WOYWW from # 7.

Loving the ATCs and it's a great way to use up left over bits from your days crafting, I must learn from it. Wishing you a very happy and productive woyww, Angela x14x

Gosh, I have the same typewriter, it's in its case on my craft room floor. I bought a new ribbon for it, but I can't get the carriage to return...I must ask Mr a Dunnit to cast an eye over it, I'm pretty sure it's a lock type thing that I just can't see! I agree, the original type text looks wonderful, and I love that you're being brave by giving brave.

Well this is the first I heard of the Brave Girl cards and I totally adore the idea. I'd trade for one. And the typewriter - where do you get the ribbons from? That is what has always stopped me from picking one up. Do you re-ink the existing one or what?? I see Julia bought a new ribbon so maybe it is the make and model to look out for!!

Have a happy WOYWW!

I think it's interesting you make something each day from what is left over on your desk. Also ATG's are really catching my eye as I've never attempted one. Such beautiful little pieces of art my friend. How clever you are!

What a great idea, Robyn, to make ATCs to give to strangers. Yours are lovely. That is indeed bravery. The ‘don’t expect applause’ one resonated with me today as I’m in the publishing maelstrom. I love how your library has a free art gallery too.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Love the idea of your ATCs . . .
I must admit that I miss typing out on a typewriter . . . I always found the tic tack of the keys hitting paper to be so relaxing . . .but . . . at least I can listen to the radio while typing on my laptop!!!
Create and enjoy

I love the fact that you use the leftovers from a day’s crafting to make such wonderful things - I admire your bravery but how wonderful to get some colour and love out into the world. Well done you!

Lovely ATCs, I have found that ATCs with messages always seem to find the right people! I love your typewriter, I have been meaning to pull mine out of the basement for some time now, maybe you have inspired me to actually do it! Have a great week, Lindart #21

Oh I do like your idea, I probably would sit there for hours using up stuff, or it could teach me to put things away! Happy WOYWW. Angela #2

What a super inspiring post. Firstly using up your left overs to make delightful ATCs and reminding me of my typewrite under my desk! Mine is boring black sadly, love your turquoise one, same colour as your blog - now there's a surprise! Then the little Art gallery, love it. Hugs BJ#12

Love the idea of using up the bits at the end of the day but feel it would take me till the end of the next day to achieve! Your brave girl cards are wonderful, I do miss getting happy mail so have started swapping again if ever you are interested. But not in a very organised way! Sorry I'm so late, my week always seems to fall into chaos Thurs/Friday. Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx #16
