It's my Party and...1st Rainbow Weaves Contest

Where does the time go?
It's been a year, give or take, since I began posting the Created Byhand Tuesday Challenge, so this weeks theme is First Anniversary-which you all know has paper as the gift-and use paper piecing as a secondary theme. I actually wanted it to be paper piercing, wanting to use my new toy the Sew Easy, and i can't make anything yet that I like with it, so stay tuned.
Two versions of this card. Which one do you like better and why?
*****CONTEST*******
leave a comment and I will randomly pick one and send you any card of your choosing- that i still have- some have been traded- featured on this blog in the past year.
Be sure to leave email contact info.
Next Monday Jan 31, I will pick and announce the winner and give you 48 hours to respond be fore I pick another name.
You have to play to win.

This card-thermal embossed the quote .
Smooshed about with distress inks for the background.
Stamped the butterfly and present with Brilliance black and then stamped again on the foil{Shout out to Diana BSI- and foil Queen} for the wings, and purple card for the box and cut out the pieces and pasted them on the card. I cut and tied the ribbon for the package and put it on with tape and glue dots.
then i decided to stamp on the flourish .
I like it both ways and it's my party( no crying)
thanks for coming along on the creative journey and hope to see more posting in 2011
and hope to meet and great many of you at Nice Threads.
please leave a comment- REMEMBER-it's your contest entry- and post your own entry over at Created Byhand. Thanks

they're both nice. Love that butterfly.

I like the flourished one the best mainly because it feels more cohesive. Things are touching and in relation to each other.

I like the one with the flourishes best, but they're both great.

I love both of your cards Robyn. They are beautiful. I like the one with the flourishes best because it seems to pull it all together.

Flouriishes best. Adds a sense of quiet drama to the lovely card.

I was brought to your site by Becca's Amazing Grace blog candy entry requirement this week. Go check it out! It's my first visit and am glad to be introduced to your work. I agree with the other 'critics' that the flourished one has a more complete and finished look. I must say that in my own work I probably would have stopped and called the first one 'done!' for fear of messing up all the work to that point!

thanks for coming by Pat.
I know that feeling well, and I've messed up plenty! I chalk that up to learning and use that card for experiments and sometimes collage.
take a risk
if you can't make a mess you can't make anything at all
