Here's what I've created for todays post:

We got some comments on the Christmas Blog Hop, that the creations were too complicated and required expensive equipment, so this is my response .

Quick and easy and not too glittery or girly to give to the men in our lives.

Aside from the stencil-Dreamweaver Bare Trees LJ 849 and the stamp-Quiefire Give me the splendid silent  sun, all you need as some paper and ink or paint, and you can create without limits!

I started with black 80 lb card stock, taped the stencil at the top as a hinge and applied VersaMagic cloud white chalk ink with a stencil brush, lifted off the stencil, washed the stencil and let the ink and stencil dry well.

Replacing the stencil as carefully as possible and taping again at the top, using a foam sponge dauber I colored the stencil with Distress paints -spun sugar, raspberry, broken china, forest moss, peeled paint and mowed grass, mixed with some pickett fence to keep them pastel.
While it was wet I fairy dusted the whole panel with Dreamweaver Mettalic F/X  Moonstone with a soft brush.

The quote is stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black on tracing paper and thermal embossed clear, the back colored with Distress inks with the same colors. Attach the paper with Glossy Accents to keep it transparent.  It's not as bright in real life and much more sparkly!

The mat was edged with Perfect Medium, Ranger sticky embossing powder, heated and the F/X moonstone burnished on with my finger.

Simple and quick and fun!

Please leave a comment to win prizes, and it's not to late to go back and see the full week of inspiration along with the rest of todays hop!

Comments and questions appreciated and always welcomed.

I like the stencil and this quote together - perfect! Would never have thought of using tracing paper, and I really like the idea of coloring it from behind. Very nice! Thanks, Robyn.

I've loved how all of the QF sentiments work so well with the Dreamweaver Stencils! This was a great collaboration this week. I think we need me make this a regular event! Love your beautiful card with the Bare Trees and the wonderful quote.

Wow...chalked Huh? Always something new to tease the imagination. I never would have thought of using chalks with that stencil, but it is wonderful. Love the sentiment too. Thanks for this week of cross promo Robyn!

One of my FAVORITE Dreamweaver stencils with a new twist! I love the use of black but adding pastels - and truly a great card for almost any occasion - for men and women. Thank you!
